There was a formal presentation of trophies at Furzefield School on Sunday 11 January and a big round of applause when the two names were unveiled

Emily Kirk - 2014 Rider of the Year - Girl

The coaches said:

Emily has progressed quietly but determinedly throughout the past year.

She always arrives with a friendly smile and is always striving to do her best.

She has learned quickly, and has progressed nicely through the basics of riding a bicycle and is ready to step up to the basics of bike racing.

Alistair Canning - 2014 Rider of the Year - Boy

The coaches said:

Through 2014 Alistair has been a great ambassador and representative of the club, proudly wearing his club kit at various events including the Crystal Palace Crits over the summer (closed road racing) and more lately at London League Cyclocross races.

His attendance at the Furzefield Sessions is always welcomed by the coaches as he is a great example from which the less experienced riders can learn and follow. He undertakes all the exercises with enthusiasm and a smile, and has mixed really well with the broad cross-section of ages that we have attend the sessions.

At the races he has similarly been a friendly and familiar face for his fellow Raiders to say hello. Raiders should be, and are proud to have Alistair wearing their colours.
