That's it for this term... next up is the summer break.

So enjoy the heat, the welcome break, and the rest of the Tour de France..... I hope you've picked the winner.

We had a new rider today in the shape of seven-year-old Michael Furley..... welcome.

The tarmac was hot and dry so we ventured into the realm of the individual skill circuit once again and here are the results.

age 5
42sec - Sebastian Gerrard

age 6
36sec - Aston Gayle

age 7
39 sec - Emily Kirk
43sec - Michael Furley

age 8
32sec - Joseph Armstrong
36sec - Tate Pitchie-Cooper
36sec - Lukas Lamberth

age 9
37sec - Daniel Warhurst
48sec - Annabel Canning

age 11
37sec - Hannah Rowley

age 12
31sec - Matthew Burnham

There was enthusiasm for a second attempt and everyone shaved something off their first recorded time, mostly either one, two or three seconds but two of the riders knocked as much as six seconds of their first figure.... and they were Aston and Sebastian.... well done, that was a big jump in confidence.

The exercise involving a mass lap total for the entire group over a period of six minutes on a circuit with a chicane/pinch-point and a tight corner made for a lot of concentration as riders had to not only judge their own speed but that of other riders. Organised chaos would be my description... but a good grounding in mass cycling.

Placing a bottle, half-full of water, on a box proved quite challenging, with Daniel Warhurst leading the way on managing it first.... good stuff.

I think we have quite a group currently where we could do with more of the 'riding one-handed' stuff.... so we'll come back to that next term.
